10 Sure-Fire ways to get back at a Prank Caller!
1. “Play along” – when the prank caller calls your cell phone, why not just play along with their game. This will likely startle them into either hanging up or lowering their guard and revealing who they really are. This works a lot because it simply astounds them into either thinking they called the wrong number or they will start to think that prank calling you will not be a fun thing to do. Every time I’ve played along – I’ve had people quickly hang up in sheer embarrassment in the knowledge they’ve been “caught”.
2. “Ask” – ask who they are and what their intensions are. This will hopefully strike a chord with them in that you will show that you have realised their game and want to know the TRUTH. Asking the caller what their real name is or what they are doing NEVER hurt anyone and has actually saved a lot of people from embarrassment.#
3. “Investigate” – do some homework and make a list of people who you think would know who you are, know your phone number and would have a reason to prank call you. This will help give you an idea of who the prank caller may be – thus giving you some “clues” to go on when trying to figure out who’s prank calling you.
4.“Threaten” – claim your phone has been bugged by the FBI for investigation into terrorism and that the prank caller is the one person who they believe is linked to the case. This will probably spook them out so much they will hang up in disbelief and astonishment.
5. “Inform” – tell the prank caller that their phone number has been noted and the police have been notified of them calling you. This, like the FBI example above, will likely scare the caller so much that they will stop calling you.
6. “Prank Them Back” – this is a pretty neat trick which involves a reverse phone lookup.
